Boxers are working dogs according to the AKC. The breed has a muscular build, a strong neck, and a square muzzle that is well proportioned with an arched head. Ears are usually cropped, but more and more owners tend to leave them uncropped. The tail is docked.

Boxers Pictures - Personality

The breed is good with children. Friendly strangers can rest assured that the Boxer will not harm them in any way. The dog needs obedience training from an early age. In fact, it is easy to train since it is very intelligent.
Coat: Coat color can be brindle, or fawn. White markings are acceptable. However, solely white color is considered to be a fault. The coat is smooth and tends to shed a little bit.
Height: 21-25 inches
Weight: Boxers weigh from 60 to 70 pounds.

Boxers Pictures - Health Concerns

Boxers are susceptible to heart problems and skin allergies. Some Boxers develop hip dysplasia and can suffer from deafness. Deafness occurs in white Boxers. Therefore, the ABC does not approve of breeding and registering white dogs. On the average, Boxers live from ten to fourteen years.

Generally, Boxers are not hard to own. They are suited for families with older children and make wonderful companions. They need obedience training from an early age. Boxers are good as agility competitors, police dogs, and guardians.
